Institute for Integrated Energy Systems
University of Victoria
The Institute for Integrated Energy Systems (IESVic) is a multi-disciplinary research centre at the University of Victoria, Canada. The Institute began over 30 years ago with a mission to chart feasible pathways to sustainable energy systems through the development of new technologies, processes, and systems. Over the years, IESVic research has led to the development of new methods for efficient energy conversion; examined short and long-term approaches to decarbonizing global energy systems; and provided guidance to policy makers for energy system planning. Graduate student and postdoctoral researchers trained through IESVic have gone on to lead centres in other universities, deploy clean technologies in industry, and to start new companies providing energy system solutions. In this video, you learn about some of the current research themes, the culture of the institute, the extraordinary environment and opportunities that come with working at IESVic.
