Outstanding Clinical Care, Excellent Training & Innovative Research
University at Buffalo
Established in 1951, the Department of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo has a long tradition of outstanding clinical care, residency training, and academic inquiry. Faculty members provide services in a variety of venues across Buffalo and Erie County. The program for medical students is exceptionally strong, and the department has an extraordinarily high percentage of medical students who select psychiatry for their residency training. A number of faculty are internationally recognized for their research and a growing number are supported by grant funds from NIH, as well as New York State and foundation sources.
