Pasadena Police Department - California
Collaborating to Build Safer Neighborhoods - The Pasadena Way
The City of Pasadena has 132 years of service as one of the original cities to be incorporated in Los Angeles. The Pasadena Police Department is a full service public safety agency of 375 employees and over 100 volunteers dedicated to community collaboration in establishing safe neighborhoods. The challenge of balancing enforcement and engagement lies within the principles of community policing ensuring we are proactive members in neighborhood problem solving, building positive relationships, and ensuring accessibility and opportunity for all. Our alliance with non-profits organizations is critical in our efforts and has been instrumental in preventing and reducing crime. The success of our community partnerships is reflected in our neighborhood safety initiatives, such as the violence reduction efforts to stop gang violence, bike patrols in neighborhood to improve the quality of life, youth mentorship programs sponsored through various non-profit entities, and in-home visits to reduce gang membership. All efforts serve a vital role in establishing safer neighborhoods.
We are proud to provide our model of policing engrained in our philosophy of the “Pasadena Way” centered on Excellence, Innovation, & Integrity and founded in the core value -We exist to serve the community.
