STEM Education Graduate Certificate Program: Preparing the Next Generation of Science Teachers with Global Perspectives
The STEM Education graduate certificate program prepares teachers to integrate STEM core ideas and practices to PreK-12 instruction inside and outside the classroom. The partnership between Arcadia University and Lower Merion School District supports teachers to take graduate courses in order to study, implement and reflect on the core ideas of science, cross-cutting concepts, and science and engineering practices based on the Next Generation Science Standards. Highly unique to Arcadia’s graduate certificate in STEM is its integrated study abroad program that includes 40 hours of fieldwork in Sicily, Italy in order to develop the next generation of teacher leaders with global perspectives toward STEM disciplines, society, education, energy, environment, and sustainability.
