MCH PHLI (Maternal and Child Health Public Health Leadership Institute) developed boundary-spanning leadership skills in MCH leaders from 46 states and territories. MCH PHLI’s focus on 20 leadership skills prepared these individuals to advocate for children and families, effectively partner, and deliver on top priorities for their states and areas. Program Fellows rated MCH PHLI as excellent (4.9/5) and noted that they increased their leadership skills to a statistically significant extent on all 20 targeted skills. They used these skills to impact others—the “MCH PHLI ripple effect” found that Cohort 1 Fellows testified that their implementation of skills learned directly touched more than 20,000 people in turn.
